1. Summary
MoonHush is built to be privacy-friendly. We don’t require an account, and we don’t collect information that identifies you ourselves. Your favorites and settings stay on your device. The main data flows are (1) advertising, served by Google AdMob unless you buy Remove Ads, and (2) purchase processing, handled by Apple/Google and RevenueCat. This policy explains what that involves and the choices you have.
2. No account
MoonHush has no sign-up, login, or cloud account. You can use the App without giving us any personal information.
3. Information stored on your device
The following are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us:
- Your favorite sounds.
- Your preferences (default timer, audio settings, etc.).
- Your “Remove Ads” entitlement status (a local mirror of your store purchase).
You can clear this data by deleting the App.
4. Information collected by third parties through the App
a. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Unless you purchase Remove Ads, the App shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect or use:
- a mobile advertising identifier (Apple IDFA / Google Advertising ID),
- approximate, non-precise location inferred from IP address,
- device information (model, OS version, language), and
- ad-interaction and app-usage signals.
Depending on your consent and platform settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. On iOS, the App uses App Tracking Transparency (ATT): we ask for your permission before any tracking that uses your advertising identifier across apps, and we honour your choice. See Section 7 for your controls.
b. Purchases (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat)
When you buy or restore Remove Ads, the transaction is processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to validate and manage entitlements. In this process the following may be processed:
- an anonymous app user identifier generated by RevenueCat (not your name or email),
- purchase/transaction and entitlement details, and
- device and platform information (OS, country, app version).
We do not receive or store your payment card details; those stay with Apple or Google.
c. Diagnostics
We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs that identify you. Apple and Google may provide us with aggregate, non-identifying crash and performance statistics through their developer tools.
5. How information is used
Information collected through the App is used to: serve and measure advertising (Google), process and restore your purchase and keep your Remove-Ads status accurate (Apple/Google/RevenueCat), and maintain basic app stability. We do not sell your personal information for money.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we (and our partners) rely on: your consent for personalized advertising and any cross-app tracking; performance of a contract to process your purchases; and legitimate interests in providing non-personalized ads and keeping the App secure and functional. You may withdraw consent at any time (Section 7).
7. Your choices and controls
- iOS tracking: allow or deny the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change it later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Tracking and Settings → MoonHush.
- Reset / limit ad ID: iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android — Settings → Google → Ads (reset or delete advertising ID, opt out of personalization).
- Remove ads entirely: purchase Remove Ads in the App; once active, no ads are shown.
- Consent (where shown): where a consent prompt is presented for ads, you can change your choice via the in-app option or by reinstalling.
8. Sharing and third-party services
We share information only as described above, with the service providers that make the App work. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google (AdMob / Play): https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- RevenueCat: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
9. Data retention
Data stored on your device remains until you delete the App. Data held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat is retained according to their own policies and for as long as needed to provide advertising and purchase services.
10. Children’s privacy
MoonHush is designed for parents and caregivers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App’s target audience is set to adults in the app stores, and we configure advertising via Google AdMob with content-rating restrictions (“G-rated only”) and we honour GDPR-K signals for users in the EU under the age of consent. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App in a way that resulted in personal data being collected, please contact hello@draustudio.com and we will delete it. If you want an ad-free experience, purchase Remove Ads. For how to remove app data and reset advertising identifiers, see Section 7 (Your choices and controls) above and the “How to remove your data” section of our Terms of Service.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection; and the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. The use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads may be considered a “sale” or “share”; you can opt out using the controls in Section 7.
To exercise any right, contact hello@draustudio.com. Because we don’t maintain accounts, we may be unable to identify device-level data tied to you; many controls are exercised directly through the device and store settings in Section 7.
12. International transfers
Our service providers (Apple, Google, RevenueCat) may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, they rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers under their own policies.
13. Security
We rely on the security measures of the platforms and providers we use. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above shows the latest version, and material changes will be reflected in the App or its store listings. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
